KEN HARRISON KEYS / BACKING VOCALS As a young boy, learned to play piano in Mrs. Katzendogsalopoulos‘s
kitchen. Had two lessons before Mrs. K sold piano to make room in kitchen for a family from Liverpool. Joined a ‘jug
band’. “Left that jug band when I found out they played music.” Got a gig with a marching band, but had to take a
year off to recover from injuries received carrying piano from Martin Place to Hyde Park. Two strong musical
influences (Johnnie Walker Red & Black) aided transcendental development and landed a gig doing toilet roll ads. As
luck would have it, was overheard one night (from the next booth) by a pop diva who needed strong backing. So
Bruce’s band became home - for two days. The rest is history. Linked with many bands and artists - but none of the
stalking charges ever proved in Court. “When I started to make a lot of mistakes regularly, I decided it was time to
start playing jazz.” And that’s how leg ends are created. Now for the boring stuff- Studied piano, then guitar, then
organ, then piano and trumpet at Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Work Worked in pop, rock, jazz/fusion bands,
backing bands and various acts - Jeff St. John, Renee Geyer, Colleen Hewitt, Alyson McCallum, Dianne Horder,

Luke Escombe and the Corporation recorded their 2012 album “Mantown” in the Byron Bay hills over three weeks of endless rain. Combining pulpit-shaking drama with snake-hipped grooves, smoking guitars, catchy tunes and seriously funny lyrics, the record drew glowing praise from critics and audiences alike, spending an amazing nine straight months in the top ten of the Australian Blues and Roots chart. Their follow-up project – “Chronic Symphonic” was a different beast entirely, a vibrant mash-up of rock symphony, comedy show, health summit and multimedia extravaganza which stood as one of the highlights of last year’s Sydney Fringe. And that's the way they work, just when you think you’ve got them figured out, they surprise you with something fresh. Every show is another brand new story waiting to be told, another funky flower about to blossom, another paint bomb ready to explode.
Featuring some of Sydney’s finest musicians and fronted by a man once voted “Sydney’s sexiest man voice” on radio station Mix 106.5FM, Luke Escombe and the Corporation are a unique, compelling, hilarious and ridiculously entertaining live act. You’ll be dancing, laughing, rocking out, nodding your head and wondering why you’ve never heard anything quite like them.
